I'm an encouraging and versatile music tutor based in Bristol, with over 10 years experience teaching Violin, Mandolin & Guitar. I believe everyone, whatever their age or background can enjoy learning an instrument and make real progress.
I teach all ages from around 12 upwards; beginners through to improvers and advanced. My speciality is music from various folk traditions (e.g. old-time american, Irish, klezmer) but I enjoy teaching classical and improv too, as well as help with theory, music notation and songwriting if of interest too.
As a violin and mandolin teacher I often provide guitar accompaniment to help students learn to perform with confidence, and am happy to recommend fun and interesting repertoire in many genres.
Additionally, I have experience teaching in group learning settings, having facilitated workshops at festivals including Gainsborough, Fire in the Mountain and End of the Road.
Lessons are £32 p/h based in St George, Bristol BS5.
